With customer support, fundraiser at 39 East Texas
Whataburgers raises $7,605 for East Texas Food Bank
TYLER, Texas – On Wednesday, Dec. 11, Whataburger representatives will present a check for $7,605 to the East Texas Food Bank. The funds were raised by Whataburger customers during a special fundraiser on Nov. 18, when 39 East Texas Whataburger locations pledged to donate 20 percent of its sales to the East Texas Food Bank. The “Oh Whata Night” event included family-friendly activities and delicious food, along with each restaurant’s donation.
“The outpouring of support from Whataburger customers across all our 39 East Texas restaurants was tremendous, and we’re so grateful we were able to raise these funds for the East Texas Food Bank,” said Whataburger Franchisee Chris Johnson. “We believe that every family deserves a warm, comforting meal, especially during this holiday season, and we’re honored to help make that possible.”
“We are so grateful for the East Texas Whataburger franchisees for dedicating a portion of their sales in support of our struggling neighbors,” said Dennis Cullinane, executive director of the East Texas Food Bank. “We hope that Whataburger’s demonstration of corporate compassion and social responsibility will be an example for many others will emulate and we thank them for their leadership.”
