Third Annual "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast"
at the East Texas Food Bank
(Tyler, Texas) November 12, 2012 – The East Texas Food Bank and LT24, a service organization from Leadership Tyler Class 24, will host the third annual “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast”. The event will take place at the East Texas Food Bank, 3201 Robertson Road, on Saturday, November 17th from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 pm. The public is asked to bring cans of tuna to donate to the East Texas Food Bank for admission to the event.
“This has turned into such a great annual event,” said Brian Pearson, an LT24 member. “It’s fun for the family and an awesome way to educate the public on what a terrific asset the East Texas Food Bank is to the community. We expect it to be bigger than ever and look forward to seeing the mob of happy kids sitting on hay bales and stuffing their tummies full.”
The feast, based on the popular holiday favorite A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, will feature a buffet of jelly beans, pretzels, popcorn, toast, ice cream and drinks – all items brought by the children for their Thanksgiving dinner in the movie. A special presentation of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will follow.
“The East Texas Food Bank is proud to be hosting A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving again this year,” said Dennis Cullinane, executive director of the East Texas Food Bank. “It’s a great way to bring the youngest members of our community and their families to the East Texas Food Bank to participate in bringing this holiday classic to life, and teach the meaning of Thanksgiving and the importance of sharing with the less fortunate.”
Thanks to the sponsors of the event which include: Brookshire’s, Popcorn Junction, Jason’s Deli, Dairy Queen, Sweet Gourmet and The Tyler Morning Telegraph. For more information go to EastTexasFoodBank.org/CharlieBrown
