Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of the East Texas Food Bank logging thousands of service hours and distributing millions pounds of food each year.

Volunteers are welcome on an ongoing basis. Our operating hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM and Tuesday 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. We also regularly schedule evening and Saturday volunteer times for those who can't volunteer during normal business hours.

What can volunteers do?

Volunteers sort, inspect, and repackage donated product in our Salvage/Reclaim Program. 

Volunteers are needed in our Repack Room torepack bulk dried products such as beans, rice, cereal, pasta, paper products, etc. into smaller quantities.

Office Volunteers are occasionally needed to help with office and administrative support. Duties include filing, data entry, light typing, photocopying and other duties.

Volunteers are needed occasionaly needed for Special Events. Annual events include: food drives with the Letter Carriers and Boy Scouts of America, outreach fairs, seasonal projects and fundraisers.

Drivers are needed to pick up bread from designated stores and deliver to the East Texas Food Bank on certain days.
