Canned food drives are an essential part of the East Texas Food Bank distribution system. By receiving large and varied amounts of food items, the East Texas Food Bank is able to offer a wider variety of food products to its partner agencies.
The East Texas Food Bank relies on the financial contributions of individuals, corporations, foundations and other groups to raise the yearly monies needed to feed the hungry in East Texas.
Volunteers perform a variety of activities, including answering the phone, taking food orders, picking up and transporting food, assisting with special events, sorting food and working in the warehouse.
