Donna Spann joined the East Texas Food Bank in October 2016, after owning and operating Capstone College and Career Advising. While there, she helped college bound students choose majors, navigate career paths and drew upon her background in community service, public relations and nonprofit leadership. Donna oversees all communications and marketing activities of the East Texas Food Bank, and supervises the SNAP-Ed and Nutrtion Education Programs. She has previously served as the Director of the East Texas Regional Branch of Prevent Blindness Texas and Director of Children's Miracle Network at Mother Frances Hospital. In addition, Donna previously served as the Director of Community and Public Relations at PATH in Tyler. Donna graduated Magna Cum Laude from LeTourneau Christian University with a Bachelors in Business Administration.
Online Communications Coordinator
Michael Hetrick joined the East Texas Food Bank in August 2010, after working for ABC affiliate KLTV over seven years. While at KLTV, Michael edited and coordinated video for newscasts, helped implement AP ENPS and BitCentral news gathering technology, and served as the weekend meteorologist for nearly three years. At the East Texas Food Bank, he is in charge of managing all aspects of the website and is the social media manager for the East Texas Food Bank's Twitter and Facebook accounts. Michael still has an active interest in weather, studying it since he was five years old. He is also a certified SKYWARN spotter for the National Weather Service. Michael is a graduate of Nacogdoches High School, holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications- Radio/TV from Stephen F. Austin State University and obtained Broadcast Meteorology certification from Mississippi State University.
Angie Shoffner, MS CHES
Nutrition Education Coordinator
Angie Shoffner joined the East Texas Food Bank in November of 2008 as the Nutrition Education Specialist, and rejoined the staff in December 2013 after a temporary move to West Virginia. Angie is excited to return to do what she loves and help ensure children get the food and nutrition their bodies need to thrive and grow. Angie works with adults, seniors and children, offering nutrition classes and information, disease prevention, meal planning, shopping on a budget, cooking, and food safety. She has a passion for empowering people to live a healthier lifestyle and has had the opportunity to witness individuals and families change their lives through her work with the East Texas Food Bank. Angie is a Certified Health Education Specialist and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Kinesiology and a Master of Science degree in Health Sciences.
