Pantry & Warehouse Shift Lead – Texarkana Resource Center – Texarkana, TX

This Texarkana Pantry & Warehouse Shift Lead position provides coordination, shift oversight, and supportive services to the Texarkana Resource Center. In a supporting role, the shift lead will be responsible for the daily in-house operations of the food pantry and warehouse. They provide direction and oversee the warehouse associate. The Shift Lead manages warehouse/pantry volunteers as required.

Job Responsibilities:

· Occasionally travel to ETFB Headquarters in Tyler, Texas for meetings

· Ability to use all equipment in the pantry and warehouse, including computers, pallet jacks, etc.

· Conducts volunteer training events and ensures 3-4 volunteers are assigned and trained per shift and directs volunteers to serve effectively

· Assures proper documentation is on file (Civil Rights, etc.).

· Promotes volunteer opportunities to neighbors

· Helps coordinate volunteer schedules, TXKRC shift checklist, assists in logging volunteer hours, and directs volunteers, i.e., Stocking, Shopping with Neighbors, Cleaning Facility, Cross-training in Oasis/Intake, etc.

· Promptly responds to requests for information regarding the food pantry

· Assists the Branch Manager with volunteer appreciation

· Keeps accurate food pantry records and reports to the ETFB and promptly submits requested reports and inspections to the ETFB

· Ensures neighbor data compliance with state and federal regulations on an administrative and site level.

· Promptly communicates essential information to the Branch Manager

· Assists in educating clients about the available East Texas Food Bank programs

· Provides excellent customer service to volunteers and pantry customers

· Lead employee on-site when the Branch Manager is not present

· Assist at other ETFB Branch locations when needed

· Assigns duties to Pantry and Warehouse Associate and volunteers

· Apply common sense understanding to written, oral, or diagram form instructions

· Deal with challenges involving variables in standardized situations

· When required, work evenings and weekends—open and close TXKRC

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability and experience working in various software programs

• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and complete work in a timely fashion

• Open-minded to new work ideas and methods to streamline warehouse and pantry operations

• Ability to problem-solve various issues

Education/Experience:

• Previous experience in customer service and warehouse/pantry operations

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Spanish speaking preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft applications.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, type, and view a computer screen for periods. Lift a maximum of 70 pounds and climb ladders. Operate lift and pallet jacks in the warehouse. Stock pantry and warehouse as needed.
